Ejector is a device in which a high velocity Jet of a given fluid mixes with a second fluid and the mixture is discharged into a region at pressure higher than the source of the the second fluid. The Ejector pumps the second fluid from one place to another.

  Note that “Liquid-Jet Ejectors” are distinct in their simplicity and construction. They are, in the recent years, termed as ‘Eductors’. Mamko also has used this Nomenclature. Ejector is a more general word. However, we have used them only when the motive fluid is Steam, Air, Gas or any vapour. A typical Ejector is given in Fig. above.
